PRP Injections
Quick answer
PRP injections use platelet-rich plasma prepared from a small sample of your own blood. After centrifugation the platelet-rich layer, dense in growth factors, is injected into the skin or scalp to support repair, collagen production and follicle activity. At Oaro Dermatology Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul, a board-certified dermatologist prepares and injects PRP in a series of 3 sessions, often combined with microneedling or laser.

Every plan at Oaro Dermatology Clinic begins with a 1:1 skin diagnosis by a board-certified dermatologist, so the dose, device settings and session count are set for your skin rather than a template. Meet our doctors or ask about your own skin .

Overview

What are PRP injections?

Platelet-rich plasma is prepared by drawing 10–20 ml of your blood, spinning it in a centrifuge and separating the plasma layer in which platelets are concentrated several times above normal. Platelets carry growth factors such as PDGF, TGF-beta and VEGF that signal fibroblasts, keratinocytes and hair follicle cells to repair and build. Injected back into the dermis or scalp, PRP may improve skin texture, fine lines, acne-scar quality and under-eye crepiness, and may support hair density in early thinning.

Because the material is entirely your own, allergy and rejection are not concerns. Results are gentle and cumulative rather than dramatic, and quality depends heavily on the preparation system and the concentration achieved, which is why PRP should be prepared and injected in a clinic rather than a salon.

How PRP injections work at Oaro

At Oaro Dermatology Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul, a board-certified dermatologist confirms you are suitable (no blood disorders, anticoagulants or active infection), then blood is drawn in the clinic and processed in a closed kit while numbing cream takes effect. PRP is injected in a fine grid across the face, scalp or scar area, or applied immediately after Potenza RF microneedling so channels carry it into the dermis. For acne scars we may pair PRP with CO2 laser resurfacing to speed recovery; for thin skin it works alongside PDRN injections. Our PRP therapy page covers scalp protocols in detail, and the injectable treatments hub compares every regenerative option. Written aftercare and a care notebook record follow each session.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does PRP work for hair loss?

It may improve density in early thinning, especially combined with medical treatment such as minoxidil or finasteride. It does not revive follicles that are already lost.

Is PRP painful?

Mildly. Numbing cream makes facial injections comfortable; the scalp is more sensitive, so we inject slowly and may add cooling.

How is PRP different from PDRN or Rejuran?

PRP is your own platelets; PDRN is salmon-derived DNA. Both are regenerative, and your dermatologist may use them together.

When will I see results?

Skin glow is often noticeable at 2–4 weeks; scar and hair changes take 3–6 months as new tissue forms.

Who should not have PRP?

People with platelet disorders, active infection, cancer under treatment, or on blood thinners should discuss alternatives first.
