What is Thermage FLX?

Thermage FLX is the latest iteration of the Thermage monopolar radiofrequency platform. Three engineering changes set it apart from the earlier CPT system. The Total Tip 4.0 covers a 33 percent larger area per pulse, so a full face takes less time. AccuREP technology measures the impedance of your tissue before every pulse and adjusts the energy automatically, which makes heating more uniform. And the multi-directional vibration in the handpiece, combined with cooling before, during and after each pulse, keeps the treatment comfortable enough that numbing cream is rarely needed.

The biological effect is the same as classic Thermage: controlled heating of the dermis and subdermal fibrous tissue, immediate collagen contraction and a longer remodelling phase that improves firmness over three to six months. FLX also offers dedicated eye and body tips.

What to expect

1. Consultation & diagnosis

Your dermatologist examines skin thickness and laxity, screens for contraindications such as pacemakers or pregnancy and chooses the tip and shot count.

2. Treatment

The skin is cleansed and a temporary grid is applied. Each pulse is a cycle of cooling, radiofrequency heat and cooling; AccuREP adjusts the energy automatically while you report the heat level. A face treatment usually takes 30–45 minutes.

3. Aftercare & follow-up

You can go straight back to your day. A review is scheduled at three months, and your plan is recorded in your care notebook.

Aftercare

• Mild pinkness or warmth is normal and usually fades within a few hours.
• Skip saunas, hot springs and strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
• Apply moisturiser and sunscreen daily; make-up is fine the same day.

• Return at three months for comparison photographs and to discuss maintenance timing.
