Forehead Botox in Apgujeong & Cheongdam, Gangnam, Seoul

Softens horizontal forehead lines by relaxing the frontalis muscle, while keeping enough movement for natural expression.

Forehead Botox
Quick answer
Forehead Botox uses small amounts of botulinum toxin (often called Botox) to relax the frontalis muscle, softening the horizontal lines that form when you raise your eyebrows. At Oaro Dermatology Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul, a board-certified dermatologist examines how your brows and forehead move first and sets the dose to keep your expression natural.

Every Botox plan at Oaro Dermatology Clinic begins with a 1:1 examination by a board-certified dermatologist, so the toxin, dose and injection points are set for your muscles rather than a template. Meet our doctors or see all injectables.

Overview

What is forehead Botox?

The frontalis is the broad, thin muscle that lifts your eyebrows. Each time you look surprised or raise your brows to open your eyes wider, it folds the skin into horizontal lines, which over the years can remain visible at rest. Botox reduces how strongly the frontalis contracts, so the lines soften and the skin is creased less often.

The frontalis also holds the brows up, so the forehead is an area where less is often more: too much toxin, or toxin placed too low, can leave the brows feeling heavy. Dermatologists in Seoul usually assess it together with the frown muscles between the brows, and many patients in Gangnam prefer a light, movement-preserving approach.

How forehead Botox works at Oaro

At Oaro Dermatology Clinic, where Apgujeong meets Cheongdam, Dr. Chang-hyun Kim or Dr. Ji-ho Park watches your forehead at rest, raising the brows and frowning, and checks your brow position and upper eyelids. Some people unknowingly use the forehead to lift heavy eyelids, so the plan is adjusted to avoid a hooded feeling. The dose is set by the dermatologist after examining muscle size and strength. Many people combine this with frown line Botox for balance, and our forehead Botox guide covers more background.

Treatment goals

Common goals for forehead Botox

Softer lines without a frozen look

Most people want a smoother forehead in conversation and photos while still being able to raise their brows. A lighter dose spread across the upper forehead usually keeps some movement and avoids an immobile look.

Smoother skin under makeup

Fine horizontal lines can catch foundation and look deeper by the end of the day. Reducing the muscle activity underneath helps makeup sit more evenly, alongside hydration and daily sun protection.

Early care for lines that only show on movement

Younger patients whose lines appear only when they raise their brows sometimes choose small doses. Folding the skin less often may help slow lines from settling in at rest, although skin quality, sun and genetics also play a part.

Balancing an uneven brow

Some people raise one brow more than the other. Adjusting the injection pattern on each side can make the forehead look more even, with small refinements at the two-week review.

What to expect

1. Consultation & diagnosis

The dermatologist asks about previous toxin, how much movement you want to keep, and any history of heavy or droopy eyelids. You will hear whether your lines are mainly dynamic, which respond well to toxin, or partly etched into the skin, which may need additional treatment, with an itemised quote in English.

2. Treatment

Injection points are marked across the upper forehead, staying well above the brows. Injecting takes about 5–10 minutes with a very fine needle; most people feel a few brief pricks, and ice can be applied first.

3. Aftercare & follow-up

You can return to your day with written aftercare. The effect starts in 2–5 days and peaks at about 2 weeks, the right time for a review, which can be done by message with photos if you have travelled home.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can forehead Botox make my eyebrows heavy or my eyelids droop?

Yes, this is the main specific risk. Brow heaviness can occur if the frontalis is relaxed too much or too low, particularly with low-set brows or heavy upper lids. Eyelid drooping (ptosis) is less common than after frown line treatment but possible if toxin spreads. Both are temporary, and uneven or arched brows can usually be adjusted at review. Bruising, mild swelling and headache can also occur.

Who should not have forehead Botox?

Postpone treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and avoid it with neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis, an allergy to toxin ingredients, or infection on the forehead. Tell the doctor about your medicines, particularly aminoglycoside antibiotics and blood thinners. People with marked eyelid drooping may be advised to treat very lightly or not at all.

When should I book during a Seoul trip, and can I fly afterwards?

Book in the first few days of your stay so you see the effect within 2–5 days and, ideally, return for a review at about 2 weeks; for an event, allow at least two weeks. Flying is generally fine, but on an overnight flight that day avoid sleeping with your forehead pressed against the seat. The clinic is about 8 minutes on foot from Apgujeong Rodeo Station and opens on Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00.

Will Botox remove deep forehead lines?

Lines from movement respond well, but lines etched into the skin at rest usually soften rather than disappear and may need more than one session. The dermatologist at our Gangnam clinic may suggest combining toxin with other wrinkle treatment.

How often will I need forehead Botox?

The effect typically lasts about 3–4 months before movement gradually returns. Some people repeat treatment then, while others wait longer; the dose is reviewed each time, so you can adjust how much movement you keep.
