Baby Botox in Apgujeong & Cheongdam, Gangnam, Seoul

Uses smaller, carefully spread amounts of toxin to soften expression lines while keeping natural movement in the face.

Baby Botox
Quick answer
Baby Botox is a light-touch approach in which smaller amounts of botulinum toxin (often called Botox) are placed in areas such as the forehead, frown lines and crow's feet, to soften lines while leaving more movement than a standard dose. At Oaro Dermatology Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul, a board-certified dermatologist examines how your face moves first and sets the dose for each area. Results appear within days and usually fade a little sooner than with standard dosing.

Every Botox plan at Oaro Dermatology Clinic begins with a 1:1 examination by a board-certified dermatologist, so the toxin, dose and injection points are set for your muscles rather than a template. Meet our doctors or see all injectables.

Overview

What is baby Botox?

Baby Botox is not a different product. It is a way of planning treatment: the same toxin, used in smaller amounts and often spread across more points, so the treated muscles are softened rather than stopped. You can still raise your brows, frown a little and smile with your eyes, while the creases those movements form look lighter.

It tends to suit fine, early expression lines, first-time patients who want to see how their face responds, and people who are often seen up close or on camera. The trade-offs are real: lighter doses may not soften deep, etched lines much, and the effect often wears off sooner. It also differs from skin Botox, which places toxin in the skin to target pores, oil and texture rather than muscle movement.

How baby Botox works at Oaro

At Oaro Dermatology Clinic, where Apgujeong meets Cheongdam in Gangnam, Dr. Chang-hyun Kim watches your face at rest and through a range of expressions before suggesting anything. He considers brow position, eyelid heaviness and how strongly each muscle pulls, because small doses still need careful placement, especially on the forehead. Many patients start with the upper face; read more on forehead Botox. International patients receive English-friendly coordination and itemised quotes in English.

Treatment goals

Common goals for baby Botox

Softening early lines without a frozen look

Fine lines across the forehead or beside the eyes often appear first with expression. Light dosing aims to make them less pronounced while the face still moves, which many people find easier to get used to.

A cautious first treatment

If you have never had toxin before, a lighter plan shows how your muscles respond. Small adjustments can then be discussed at review, rather than starting with more than you need.

Looking natural up close and on camera

Presenters, teachers, performers and people on frequent video calls often want to keep their full range of expression. The plan is built around the movements that matter most to you.

Reducing repeated creasing over time

A softer muscle folds the skin less often in the same place. Regular light treatment may help early lines become less established, although sun protection, skincare and genetics also play a large part.

What to expect

1. Consultation & diagnosis

Your dermatologist asks which lines bother you and which expressions you want to keep, then examines brow position, eyelid weight and muscle strength in each area. You will hear whether baby Botox suits your lines, or whether a standard dose or another treatment would match your goal better.

2. Treatment

After cleansing, small amounts are placed at several points in each chosen area. Treatment usually takes 10–20 minutes, with brief pinches; numbing cream is available. The dose is set by the dermatologist after examining muscle size and strength, choosing the lighter end of the range to preserve movement.

3. Aftercare & follow-up

You can return to work the same day. Softening begins in two to five days and peaks around two weeks. A review then, in person or by message with photos, lets the doctor check balance and, if needed, add a little where movement is stronger than planned.

Cost guide

Baby Botox cost in Seoul

Baby Botox is often priced by area rather than by the smaller amount used, so it is not always cheaper than standard treatment. Cost depends on how many areas are treated and on the toxin brand. Units differ between brands and are not interchangeable, so compare prices per area rather than unit counts. Korean-made toxins such as Nabota are widely used in Seoul and cost less than imported brands. These are typical ranges in Seoul clinics.

Option Typical range (KRW)
One area, Korean-made toxin ₩30,000–₩150,000
Two to three upper-face areas, Korean-made toxin ₩100,000–₩350,000
One area, imported toxin ₩100,000–₩300,000
Two to three upper-face areas, imported toxin ₩250,000–₩700,000

Exact pricing is confirmed at consultation after examination.

Aftercare

Aftercare

  • Stay upright and avoid lying face down or pressing on the treated areas for about four hours.
  • Do not rub or massage the area for the rest of the day; gentle make-up can usually go on after a few hours.
  • Skip workouts, saunas, hot baths and alcohol until the next day to reduce bruising and swelling.
  • Expect light softening rather than stillness, and give it the full two weeks before judging the result.
  • Message the clinic if you notice brow heaviness, a drooping eyelid or unevenness; these are uncommon and temporary.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is baby Botox different from standard Botox?

The toxin is the same. The difference is the amount and spread: smaller doses across more points to soften rather than stop movement. Patients at our Apgujeong clinic often choose it for a first treatment, and some move between lighter and standard plans over time.

Will baby Botox last as long?

Usually not quite. Facial toxin generally lasts about three to four months at standard doses, and lighter doses often wear off sooner, commonly around two to four months. Timing varies with muscle strength and the area treated, so some people prefer more frequent, lighter sessions.

Can baby Botox still cause side effects?

Yes, although lighter doses help keep effects subtle. Bruising, mild swelling and headache are the most common. On the forehead and between the brows, brow heaviness or, rarely, eyelid drooping can still happen, which is why brow position is assessed carefully. These effects are temporary.

Who should avoid or postpone baby Botox?

Postpone treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have an infection in the area. It is not suitable for people with neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis or a known allergy to toxin ingredients. Tell the doctor about any medicines, including aminoglycoside antibiotics and blood thinners.

When should I book if I am visiting Seoul or have an event?

Aim for at least two weeks before an event or photographs, so the effect has settled and any review can happen while you are still in Seoul. On a shorter trip, treatment early in your stay is still possible, and our Cheongdam team can review photos by message. The clinic in Gangnam is about 8 minutes on foot from Apgujeong Rodeo Station, and flying the next day is generally fine.
