Overview
What is bunny line Botox?
Bunny lines are the short diagonal creases on each side of the upper nose that appear when you smile broadly, laugh or wrinkle your nose. They are made by the nasalis muscle pulling the skin of the nasal sidewall inwards. For some people they show only with expression; for others, years of scrunching leave faint lines that stay visible at rest.
A small amount of toxin reduces how strongly this muscle contracts, so the skin folds less and the lines soften while your smile stays your own. Bunny lines often become more noticeable after frown lines are treated, because some people start scrunching the nose instead of the brow, so the two areas are usually assessed together.
How bunny line Botox works at Oaro
At Oaro Dermatology Clinic, on the 8th floor of Cheongdam Tower where Apgujeong meets Cheongdam in Gangnam, treatment is planned by a board-certified dermatologist such as Dr. Chang-hyun Kim, our Representative Director. The dermatologist watches you smile and scrunch to see where the lines form and how strong the muscle is, then sets the dose and injection points. Because the nose sits close to the muscles that lift the upper lip, precise placement matters more than the amount used.
Many patients combine this with frown line Botox or crow's feet Botox so the upper face relaxes evenly.

Treatment goals
Common goals for bunny line Botox
Softer lines when you laugh
Bunny lines often show up in candid photos, where a broad laugh scrunches the nose into a cluster of creases. Relaxing the nasalis softens that pattern while you still laugh as usual.
Faint resting lines on the nasal sidewall
Toxin can help stop lines that remain at rest from deepening. Lines that are already etched may soften only partly, and skin-quality treatments may be suggested alongside.
Balancing a previously treated upper face
If your nose scrunches more since forehead or frown line treatment, a few points over the nose can stop one area looking more active than the rest.
Easing a scrunching habit
Some people scrunch their nose when concentrating or in bright light. Weakening the movement for a few months helps some patients notice the habit and relax their face more often.
Your visit
What to expect
1. Consultation & diagnosis
Your dermatologist asks about previous Botox, filler or nose procedures, your medicines and health conditions, then examines your nose at rest and in movement. Most people prefer to keep a little natural crinkle, so you will agree how much softening you want. If your lines come mainly from sun damage or thinning skin, you will be told that Botox is not the right tool.
2. Treatment
After cleansing, usually one or two points are marked on each side of the upper nose. The injections take a few minutes with a very fine needle; most people feel a brief sting, and a cold pack or numbing cream is available. Small bumps at the points settle within about 30 minutes.
3. Aftercare & follow-up
You receive written aftercare and can return to work or sightseeing straight away. The effect begins in 2–5 days and peaks at around 2 weeks. A review at 2–4 weeks, in person or by message with photos, lets your dermatologist check symmetry and refine the next session.

Aftercare
Aftercare
- Stay upright for about 4 hours and avoid lying face down for the rest of the day.
- Do not rub or press on the sides of your nose that day; if you wear glasses, choose a light pair.
- Skip strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol for 24 hours to limit swelling and bruising.
- Use a wrapped cold pack if a small bruise appears; gentle make-up can usually go on the next day.
- Contact the clinic if your upper lip feels heavy or your smile looks uneven, so your dermatologist can review it.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will bunny line Botox change my smile?
It should not when placed correctly, because the target is the small muscle across the nose rather than the muscles that lift the lip. The area-specific risk is toxin reaching a nearby lip-lifting muscle, which can make the upper lip feel heavy or the smile look slightly uneven for a few weeks. This is uncommon and temporary. Other possible side effects are a small bruise, mild swelling or a brief headache.
Who should avoid bunny line Botox?
Postpone treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an infection or rash on the nose, or are unwell. It is not suitable for people with a neuromuscular disorder such as myasthenia gravis or an allergy to toxin ingredients. Tell your dermatologist about all medicines, especially blood thinners and aminoglycoside antibiotics.
I am visiting Seoul for a week. When should I book?
Early in your trip if you can. There is no real downtime, so you can carry on exploring Gangnam the same afternoon, and flying soon after treatment is generally considered fine. Your dermatologist can review the result by message once you are home; our international clinic page explains how English-friendly coordination works.
Can I treat bunny lines and frown lines in the same visit?
Yes, and many patients do. The brow and nose muscles work together, so treating only one can make the other look busier. Your dermatologist in Apgujeong will check both and list each area separately on your quote.
How long does it last, and what happens when it wears off?
Usually about 3–4 months. The lines then return gradually to how they were before; stopping does not make them worse. Many patients at our Cheongdam clinic time repeat sessions with their other facial Botox.
