Nose Tip Botox in Apgujeong & Cheongdam, Gangnam, Seoul

Relaxes the small muscle beneath the nose that pulls the tip downwards when you smile, so the tip drops less.

Nose Tip Botox
Quick answer
Nose tip Botox is a small injection of botulinum toxin (often called Botox) into the depressor septi nasi, a tiny muscle at the base of the nose that pulls the tip down and can shorten the upper lip when you smile. At Oaro Dermatology Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul, a board-certified dermatologist examines your nose and smile first and sets the dose. It changes how the tip moves when you smile, not the shape of the nose at rest.

Every Botox plan at Oaro Dermatology Clinic begins with a 1:1 examination by a board-certified dermatologist, so the toxin, dose and injection points are set for your muscles rather than a template. Meet our doctors or see all injectables.

Overview

What is nose tip Botox?

The depressor septi nasi is a small muscle that runs from the area above the front teeth, under the upper lip, into the base of the columella, the strip of tissue between the nostrils. In some people it is particularly active: as they smile, the nasal tip dips, the nose can look longer, and the upper lip may shorten or form a crease beneath the nose.

A small amount of toxin in this muscle reduces its pull, so the tip moves less when you smile. It does not change cartilage, bone or the shape of the nose at rest, and it cannot replace structural options. Where the concern is a low or flat profile, non-surgical rhinoplasty with filler may be discussed instead.

How nose tip Botox works at Oaro

At Oaro Dermatology Clinic, on the 8th floor of Cheongdam Tower where Apgujeong meets Cheongdam in Gangnam, Dr. Chang-hyun Kim watches your nose at rest and through a full smile, from the front and the side. Because this muscle sits close to the muscles of the upper lip, the dose is kept small and placement is precise. Nose tip treatment is sometimes combined with gummy smile Botox when the whole smile is being planned.

Treatment goals

Common goals for nose tip Botox

Less tip drop when smiling

The main goal is to reduce the downward pull on the tip during a smile. When this muscle is the cause, the tip can stay a little more level in expression, which shows most from the side.

A less shortened upper lip

An active depressor muscle can draw the base of the nose and the upper lip together, making the lip look shorter and creasing the area under the nose when you smile. Relaxing it may reduce that effect.

A subtle change without filler

Some people want a small refinement to how the nose looks when they talk and smile, without adding volume. Toxin is a reversible option that wears off over a few months.

Part of a balanced smile plan

The nose tip, gums and upper lip move together. When several features bother you, the dermatologist may plan nose tip treatment alongside gummy smile or bunny line treatment.

What to expect

1. Consultation & diagnosis

Your dermatologist checks how far the tip moves when you smile, the length and movement of your upper lip, and your nose structure. If tip movement is small or the concern is structural, you will hear that toxin is unlikely to help much.

2. Treatment

After cleansing, one or a few tiny injections are placed at the base of the columella, taking about 5–10 minutes. This area can sting briefly, so ice or numbing cream can be used. The dose is set by the dermatologist after examining muscle size and strength, and is kept small to protect upper lip movement.

3. Aftercare & follow-up

You can carry on with your day. Change starts in two to five days and settles by about two weeks. A review at two to four weeks, in person or by message with a short smiling video, checks the result and the balance of your smile.

Cost guide

Nose Tip Botox cost in Seoul

The nose tip is a small area, so it is one of the less expensive toxin treatments in Seoul. Cost depends on the toxin brand and whether other areas, such as the gums or bunny lines, are treated at the same visit. Units differ between brands and cannot be compared one for one, so compare prices for the area. Korean-made toxins such as Nabota are widely used and cost less than imported brands. These are typical ranges in Seoul clinics.

Option Typical range (KRW)
Nose tip, Korean-made toxin ₩30,000–₩100,000
Nose tip, imported toxin ₩80,000–₩250,000
Nose tip + gummy smile, Korean-made toxin ₩60,000–₩200,000
Nose tip + bunny lines, Korean-made toxin ₩60,000–₩200,000

Exact pricing is confirmed at consultation after examination.

Aftercare

Aftercare

  • Avoid touching, squeezing or rubbing the base of your nose and upper lip for the rest of the day.
  • Skip strenuous exercise, saunas, hot baths and alcohol until the next day to limit bruising and swelling.
  • Blow your nose gently for the first day, and avoid facial massage around the nose and mouth for a few days.
  • A small bruise or tenderness at the base of the nose usually fades within a few days; a cold compress can help.
  • Message the clinic if your upper lip feels stiff, your smile looks uneven or drinking through a straw feels different.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will nose tip Botox lift my nose at rest?

No. It reduces how much the tip drops when you smile and wears off over about three to four months. The shape of your nose at rest stays the same. If you are looking for more height or a refined profile, the dermatologists at our Apgujeong clinic can discuss nose fillers or other options.

Could it affect my smile or upper lip?

It can, which is why the dose is kept small. If toxin spreads into the upper lip muscles, your lip may feel slightly stiff, your smile may look a little different or uneven, or using a straw may feel odd for a while. Bruising, mild swelling, tenderness and headache are also possible. These effects are temporary.

I have had rhinoplasty or nose filler. Can I still have it?

Often yes, but tell the doctor what was done and when, and bring any records you have. Recent surgery or filler may mean waiting until the area has fully healed. The plan is made only after examination.

Who should avoid or postpone nose tip Botox?

Postpone it during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if there is infection, a cold sore or inflamed skin near the nose or lip. It is not suitable with neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis or a known allergy to toxin ingredients. Tell the doctor about medicines, especially aminoglycoside antibiotics and blood thinners.

How should I time this around a trip to Seoul?

Book early in your stay. Change starts in two to five days, and if your trip is long enough, the two-week review can be in person. With little downtime, it fits between other plans in Gangnam. Flying the next day is generally fine, and our Cheongdam team can review a smiling video by message after you return home.
