Botox in Apgujeong & Cheongdam, Gangnam, Seoul

Twenty treatment areas, one rule: a board-certified dermatologist examines the muscle first and sets the dose for your face and goals.

Natural, relaxed expression after Botox at Oaro Dermatology Clinic, Cheongdam & Apgujeong, Gangnam, Seoul
Quick answer

Botox is botulinum toxin, a purified protein that temporarily relaxes the muscle or gland it is placed in. At Oaro Dermatology Clinic, where Apgujeong meets Cheongdam in Gangnam, Seoul, it is used for 20 areas: expression lines, jaw and face shape, neck and body contour, and excessive sweating. Every plan starts with an examination by a board-certified dermatologist, who chooses the toxin, the points and the dose.

How it works

What Botox does, and how we plan it

Botulinum toxin blocks the nerve signal that tells a muscle to contract or a sweat gland to work. The treated muscle relaxes, so lines soften or a bulky muscle slowly slims; in the skin, sweat glands quieten. Nothing is removed and the effect wears off over months as the nerve endings recover.

Seoul clinics use Korean-made toxins, such as Nabota, and imported brands. Units are not interchangeable between brands, so quotes are best compared by area rather than by unit count. Korean-made toxins generally cost less.

  • Diagnosis first: the dermatologist watches the muscle move before choosing points and dose
  • Conservative first treatment, refined at a review 2–4 weeks later
  • Written aftercare and itemised quotes in English

FAQ

Botox questions we hear in Apgujeong

  • What is the difference between Korean-made and imported Botox?

Both are botulinum toxin. Seoul clinics use Korean-made toxins such as Nabota as well as imported brands. They are dosed in units that are not interchangeable between brands, so a higher unit number does not always mean more product. Korean-made toxins generally cost less; your dermatologist explains the options for your area at consultation.

  • How long does Botox last?

For expression lines, usually about 3–4 months. Muscle-slimming areas such as the jaw, shoulders and calves usually last about 4–6 months, and repeat sessions can prolong this. Underarm sweating treatment often lasts around 4–9 months, and palms around 3–6 months.

  • Can I treat several areas in one visit?

Yes. Common combinations are forehead, frown lines and crow's feet together, or masseter with temples. The dermatologist plans the total dose and lists each area separately on your quote.

  • Will I look frozen?

The dose is set to soften movement rather than stop it, and first treatments are deliberately conservative. If you want an especially light result, ask about baby Botox.

  • Who should not have Botox?

Postpone treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if there is an infection in the area. It is not suitable for people with neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis or a known allergy to toxin ingredients. Tell the doctor about your medicines, especially aminoglycoside antibiotics and blood thinners.

  • I am visiting Seoul. When should I book?

Early in your stay, so the effect starts before you leave and a review is possible at about two weeks if you are still in Seoul. Flying afterwards is generally fine, and follow-up continues by message once you are home.

  • Where is the clinic?

Oaro Dermatology Clinic is on the 8th floor of Cheongdam Tower, 327 Dosan-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where Apgujeong meets Cheongdam. It is about 8 minutes on foot from Apgujeong Rodeo Station. See contact and directions.
