Overview
What is hand sweating Botox?
Palmar hyperhidrosis causes the hands to sweat far more than needed, sometimes to the point of dripping. It often starts in childhood or the teenage years and can make it hard to hold a pen, use a phone or keyboard, grip a steering wheel or shake hands. Many people with sweaty palms also have sweaty feet or underarms. Antiperspirants and tap-water iontophoresis help some people.
Injected into the skin of the palms, toxin blocks the chemical signal that switches on the sweat glands, so they produce much less sweat for a few months. Palms usually need more injection points than underarms, and the effect tends to last a shorter time, often around 3–6 months. Because the small muscles of the hand lie close beneath the palm skin, temporary weakness of grip or pinch is a known possibility, so careful technique and dosing matter.
How hand sweating Botox works at Oaro
At Oaro Dermatology Clinic, located where Apgujeong meets Cheongdam in Gangnam, Dr. Chang-hyun Kim or Dr. Ji-ho Park reviews how your sweating affects daily life, work and hobbies, and whether any medical cause needs ruling out. Palms are sensitive, so comfort is planned in advance. For people who rely on fine hand work, such as musicians or surgeons, timing and dose are discussed carefully. If your underarms are also affected, see underarm sweating Botox.

Treatment goals
Common goals for hand sweating Botox
Dry hands for work and study
Sweaty palms can smudge ink, dampen paper and make touchscreens and keyboards hard to use. Drier hands often make desk tasks much easier.
Comfortable handshakes and contact
Many people avoid shaking or holding hands because of sweat. Drier palms can ease that worry.
Better grip for sport and hobbies
Climbers, golfers, racket players and musicians may want drier hands for grip and control. Because grip strength can dip for a few weeks after treatment, it helps to time sessions away from competitions or performances.
Relief before exams or events
Students and professionals sometimes book ahead of exams, interviews or a wedding. Allowing two to four weeks before the event gives the effect time to develop and lets you see how your hands respond.
Your visit
What to expect
1. Consultation & diagnosis
The dermatologist asks about your sweating pattern, triggers, other affected areas and general health, and reviews your medicines. A starch-iodine test may be used to show exactly where the palms and fingers sweat most. Comfort options and timing around work or travel are agreed, and you receive an itemised quote in English.
2. Treatment
Numbing cream is applied and the hands may be cooled with ice. Many tiny, shallow injections are then placed across the palm and along the fingers. The palms are a sensitive area, so expect a series of sharp pricks; you can ask to pause at any time. Allow 30–45 minutes, including numbing.
3. Aftercare & follow-up
Hands may feel sore and slightly tight for a day or two. Sweating usually reduces within about a week. We review at around 2–4 weeks, in person or by message, to check dryness and grip.
Cost guide
Hand Sweating Botox cost in Seoul
Treating both palms takes many injection points and a relatively large amount of toxin, so it is priced as a large area. Seoul clinics use Korean-made toxins such as Nabota as well as imported brands. Units differ by brand, so a quote with a higher unit number does not necessarily mean more product. Typical ranges in Seoul clinics:
| Option | Typical range (KRW) |
|---|---|
| Both palms, Korean-made toxin (e.g. Nabota) | ₩250,000–₩550,000 |
| Both palms, imported toxin | ₩450,000–₩700,000 |
| Both soles, Korean-made toxin | ₩250,000–₩600,000 |
Exact pricing is confirmed at consultation after examination.
Aftercare
Aftercare
- Avoid hot water soaks, saunas, jjimjilbang and heavy exercise for 24 hours.
- Do not massage or rub the palms on the day of treatment.
- Expect mild soreness or small bruises for a day or two; a cold pack wrapped in cloth can help.
- If grip or pinch feels weaker, take care with heavy bags, jar lids and tools until it recovers.
- Contact the clinic if weakness affects daily tasks, or if you notice increasing swelling, redness or signs of infection.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does hand sweating Botox hurt?
The palms are one of the more sensitive areas to treat, so you will feel the injections. Numbing cream and ice reduce the discomfort, and the dermatologist will discuss further comfort options at consultation if you are anxious. Soreness afterwards is usually mild and short-lived.
Will my grip be affected?
It can be. A temporary reduction in grip or pinch strength is a recognised side effect, usually mild and lasting a few weeks. Bruising, soreness, mild swelling and occasionally a headache can also occur. If you rely on fine finger control, such as playing an instrument, tell the dermatologist so the plan and timing can take this into account.
Who should avoid hand sweating Botox?
Postpone treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have a cut, infection or eczema flare on the palms. It is not suitable if you have a neuromuscular condition such as myasthenia gravis or an allergy to toxin ingredients. Let the dermatologist know about medicines such as aminoglycoside antibiotics and blood thinners, and about any symptoms that could suggest a medical cause, such as night sweats or sweating all over the body.
How should I plan it around a Seoul trip?
Book early in your visit so you can see how your hands respond before you leave Seoul. Flying is generally fine afterwards, but if your grip feels weaker, ask for help with heavy luggage. Oaro is in Gangnam, about 8 minutes on foot from Apgujeong Rodeo Station, and our team can follow up by message after you return home.
Can feet be treated too?
Yes, sweaty soles can be treated in a similar way, often at a separate session. Feet can be more uncomfortable to inject and may feel tender when walking for a day or two.
