Overview
What are under-eye fillers?
"Under-eye" covers more than the single groove at the inner corner. The lower lid meets the cheek along a curved junction with three parts: the tear trough medially, the palpebromalar groove laterally, and the mid-cheek furrow that connects them. Any of these can hollow with age, after weight loss, or simply by genetics, and each contributes a different part of the shadow people describe as dark circles. Under-eye fillers treat this whole junction rather than one line, using very small amounts of soft, low-swelling hyaluronic acid gel placed deep to smooth the step between lid and cheek.
The second half of the problem is the skin. Under-eye skin is thin and becomes crepey and translucent with age, so vessels and the muscle beneath show through as a bluish or brown tone. Filler cannot fix that; skin quality treatments can. We therefore often combine filler with Rejuran Healer, Juvelook or Skinvive microinjections, which thicken and hydrate the skin over a short series. 1. Consultation & diagnosis
We photograph the under-eye in several lighting directions, test skin thickness, and assess hollow, fat and pigment separately. We agree on filler volume and whether boosters or cheek support will be added, and confirm you have no active eye allergy or infection.
2. Treatment
After numbing cream, a cannula is passed from a single entry point near the cheekbone and gel is placed deep in tiny amounts across the junction. If boosters are planned they are injected the same day or two weeks later. The session takes 20–35 minutes.
3. Aftercare & follow-up
You go home with written aftercare in your care notebook. Swelling settles within a week. We review at four weeks and plan booster sessions at four-week intervals if included.
