What are Restylane fillers?
Restylane was the first hyaluronic acid filler approved in the United States, and the range has grown into a full system for the face. It uses two gel technologies. NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilised Hyaluronic Acid) gels such as Restylane and Restylane Lyft are made of firm gel particles that give precise, high-lift support where you place them, which suits cheekbones, the nose bridge and the chin. OBT (Optimal Balance Technology) gels such as Kysse, Refyne and Defyne are smoother and more flexible, so they move naturally with expression and suit the lips, nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
The range also includes Restylane Eyelight, a low-swelling gel designed for the tear trough, and Restylane Skinboosters (Vital and Vital Light), which are injected as microdroplets to hydrate and smooth skin rather than add shape. All Restylane products are hyaluronic acid and can be dissolved with hyaluronidase.
How Restylane works at Oaro

1. Consultation & diagnosis
We assess your face at rest and in expression, photograph it, and review medical history. We discuss which Restylane gels fit your anatomy and your preference for a subtle or more visible change, and we give you a clear plan with volumes and expected longevity.
2. Treatment
After topical numbing, the gel is placed with a needle for precise bolus work or a blunt cannula for areas with important vessels. Lip treatment typically takes 15 minutes; a cheek-and-fold plan about 30–40. You can check the result in a mirror before we finish.
3. Aftercare & follow-up
Written aftercare goes into your Oaro care notebook. We review you at two to four weeks and record products and volumes so that maintenance visits are efficient.

Aftercare
Aftercare
- Keep the treated area clean and avoid makeup for 12 hours.
- Avoid heat, saunas, alcohol and vigorous exercise for 24 hours.
- Lip swelling usually peaks on day two; cool compresses help.
- Do not have facials, massage or dental cleaning for two weeks.
- Report any unusual pain, white or purple discolouration, or vision changes right away.
