What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is one of the most widely used hyaluronic acid (HA) filler brands in the world. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule your skin already produces; in a filler it is cross-linked into a gel that holds water and shape. What makes the Juvederm range distinctive is its two manufacturing technologies. Hylacross (Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus) produces a smooth, cohesive gel with good hydration. Vycross (Voluma, Volift, Volbella, Volux and Skinvive) blends long and short HA chains for a lower-swelling gel with tunable firmness and longer duration.

What to expect
1. Consultation & diagnosis
We photograph and analyse your face, discuss what bothers you and what a realistic change looks like, and check for contraindications such as pregnancy, active infection or recent dental work. We explain which Juvederm products we would use, how many syringes, and the likely longevity of each.
2. Treatment
After numbing cream and antiseptic preparation, the gel is placed with a needle or blunt cannula depending on the area. We work slowly, in small amounts, and check your face seated and in motion before adding more. Lip and fine-line work may take 15 minutes; a multi-area plan may take 45.
3. Aftercare & follow-up
You go home with written instructions in your care notebook. At four weeks we review the result and make any small refinement. We note the exact product and volume used so future sessions build on the same record.

Aftercare
- Expect mild swelling for 24–72 hours, slightly longer for lips; this is not the final result.
- Avoid makeup over entry points for 12 hours and strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol for 24 hours.
- Do not massage treated areas unless we have shown you how.
- Sleep with your head slightly raised for the first two nights to reduce swelling.
- Call us immediately for severe pain, skin colour change, or any visual disturbance.
