The temple is the area between the tail of the eyebrow, the hairline and the top of the cheekbone. In youth it is flat or slightly convex; with age, weight loss or simply a slim build, the fat and muscle there thin and the temple becomes concave. Hollow temples make the cheekbones look bony, narrow the upper face so it reads as "peanut" shaped, and let the brow tail and outer eye droop. The temple is anatomically layered, with the superficial temporal artery and vein running in the fascia and the deep temporal arteries beneath the muscle. Two safe approaches are standard: a needle placed deep onto the bone about one centimetre up and one centimetre lateral from the orbital rim, or a blunt cannula in the subcutaneous plane. 1. Consultation & diagnosis

We photograph the face from the front and above, assess the depth of the hollow and the position of the brow, and discuss the product and plane that suit you. We check for migraine history, blood thinners and previous temple treatment.

2. Treatment
