What is hand rejuvenation?
Hands often reveal age before the face does, because they receive constant sun exposure and are rarely protected or treated. Three changes drive the ageing look. The fat pad on the back of the hand thins, so tendons, knuckles and veins stand out in a bony, skeletal pattern. Decades of ultraviolet light produce brown sun spots and a mottled tone. And the skin itself becomes thin, dry and crepey, with fine wrinkling that deepens when the hand is relaxed. Frequent hand washing, sanitiser and cold weather accelerate the dryness and texture change.
Hand rejuvenation addresses each of these separately. Volume is restored with a filler placed beneath the skin and above the tendons; pigment is treated with laser; and skin quality is improved with energy devices or skin boosters. Treating only one component often leaves the hand looking unchanged, which is why a combined plan is usual.

1. Consultation & diagnosis
Your dermatologist examines both hands, checks for conditions such as eczema that should be treated first, and photographs them. You receive a written plan with products, sessions and cost.
2. Treatment
Filler is placed under numbing cream with a cannula in about 20 minutes per hand, followed by gentle massage to spread the product evenly. Pico laser sessions take 10–15 minutes and are repeated every two to four weeks. Thermage FLX for the hands takes about 30 minutes in a single session; Rejuran is a course of three.
3. Aftercare & follow-up

- Apply SPF 50 to the backs of the hands daily and reapply after washing.
