What are body fillers?
Body fillers apply the principles of facial filling to the rest of the body. Two product families are used. Large-volume hyaluronic-acid (HA) body fillers are highly cross-linked gels supplied in 10 cc or larger syringes; they add immediate, reversible volume and are used for shoulders, hip dips, buttocks and calves. Collagen stimulators such as Radiesse and Sculptra add little volume on the day but encourage your own collagen over several months; they are preferred for the backs of the hands, the décolletage and crepey skin where thickness and texture, not bulk, are the goal.
In Seoul, body filling has grown alongside body contouring devices, and the two are often combined. Filler adds where there is too little; energy-based body contouring and body skin tightening reduce or firm where there is laxity. Aftercare
- Avoid pressure on the treated area, including sleeping on it, for about one week.
- No gym, swimming, saunas or massage for seven days; walking is fine.
- Keep entry points clean and dry for 48 hours and wear any compression garment as advised.
- Firmness for two to four weeks is normal; for collagen stimulators, gentle massage may be prescribed for the first days.
- Report spreading redness, warmth, fever or increasing pain to the clinic promptly.
